The Public Trustee is a self-funded statutory authority that has been serving Queenslanders since 1916. With more than 600 staff located across Queensland, we provide a range of trustee and administration services - including the sale of customer real estate.

The Public Trustee sells property Queensland-wide. In Brisbane and surrounds our Real Estate team comprises experienced licensed Auctioneers and Sales Agents who directly manage property sales. In regional and rural Queensland, we partner with local real estate agents that have extensive local area knowledge to ensure our customers have the best opportunity to achieve a good property sale outcome.

Our preferred method of sale is by public auction as this enables us to test the market and maximise the sale outcome for our customers in a transparent way. Our customers are given information about their local real estate market, and options for the marketing of their property, including the costs of different options. This enables customers to make an informed decision about how much they want to invest in marketing the property for sale and how they want the property sold.

At our core, the Public Trustee achieves outcomes for our customers that meet their needs. We listen to and involve our customers at every opportunity to ensure that they have security and peace of mind throughout the sale process.

Auction terms: cash, unconditional terms with 42 day settlement and 5% deposit payable by personal/company/bank cheque or electronic funds transfer on sale date.
Under current QLD Legislation the Public Trustee is unable to discuss or disclose the reserve, price expectations or any other indication of value for properties being submitted for public auction.

The Public Trustee's preferred method of sale is by way of Public Auction as this provides a competitive bidding process to maximise the return and transparency for the market place.
